Young elementary boys look forward to playing basketball with adult mentors. Many times I am unable to give that time and need volunteers that are willing to take the time to establish and coach a F4L basketball team.  For the past 2 years summer camp has been a big part of the community and a break for the kids, they look forward to attending a F4L summer camp.

ABOUT FIGHT 4LIFE -

How Does Fight 4Life Serve?

Fight 4Life is more than a ministry to many of our young children in the urban community of West Jefferson. It is a safe haven, a home away from home were children can work together, complete homework assignments, enjoy fun activities and special events surrounded by loving volunteers and staff in a Christian atmosphere.

1. Tutoring/Homework Help
Tutoring, mentoring, boxing and fitness, bible group sessions are some of the ways we are able to help children improve on their character, emotions, school and home life. A homework assistant is designed to help children in many areas to excel academically. Volunteers and staffs help children with homework and research papers. Children use the computer Lab for research, typing reports and for game time.

2. Bible/Mentor Group Session
Bible group talk sessions allows our young people the opportunity to talk about issues and conditions they are confronted with daily in their lives. These talks also provide each child the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with Christ. Set goals that lead to academic success and create individual plans to improve on self-confidents, attitudes, and spiritual growth.

3.  Ladies of Hope (Young Mothers) Program:
Ladies of Hope Program is designed to equip young mothers between the ages of 16 to 22 of year old with valuable mothering skills from volunteering mature mothers, grandmothers and single mothers having gone through similar circumstances. Involvement in group talk sessions allows young mothers to help each other in many ways. The Ladies of Hope program provides young mothers with clothing, car seat and other baby items as they become available.

For more information about the program or how you can become involved contact Mrs. Dorothy Young at (205) 916-2519

Who do we serve?

Fight 4Life serves urban youth of all nationalities, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The majority of teens/adolescents and young children coming to Fight 4Life comes from families--who have a history of being socially or economically disadvantaged.

Fight 4Life Fitness and Boxing uses the art of boxing to empower young people through academic, social skills, spiritual growth, mental peace and physical fitness. Staff and volunteers are attentive to youth whether they are seeking answers or acceptance. Staff and volunteers are willing to share and introduce our young people to Jesus Christ as they encourage and help them grow in their faith.
