Fight 4Life uses the fitness and boxing program to teach self discipline, self confidence and physical fitness through programs such as Tutoring, Mentoring, Bible sessions, and Fellowship services. Fight 4Life Fitness and Boxing ministry empowers young people to make wise decisions that lead to success in life. Greg and Dorothy Young are able to build trustworthy relationships with participants through up close open communication and honesty.
Using boxing techniques to teach youth anger management (how to control their emotions and not allow anger to control them) has proven to be instrumental in the way they handle situations. Anger is the number one problem among young boys and girls today. Even as adults defusing anger can be a difficult task. Participants experience and learn techniques that equip them with the ability to control anger through our anger management program.
Having the ability to turn negative energy into positive energy provides peace of mind; health and fitness for the body, while at the same time relieve stress and tension. On a broader scope participants learn a sport that will allow them a chance to become a part of the (USABF) United States Amateur Boxing Federation, the governing body of amateur boxing. This allows our participants a chance to possibly advance in the sport of boxing toward a professional boxing career.
Young teens/adolescents are faced with many obstacles just as adults daily. Those obstacles can be stumbling blocks to hold them back from succeeding in life or reaching their goals. Just like boxing you have to know when to duck or move quickly from your opponent, the same applies to struggles we face everyday. If anger is allow to cloud our minds with unclean thoughts, then bad decisions are made in the heat of the moment that will lead to disaster. However, deciding to make a few changes one step at a time can make all the difference in the world.
